MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – The Chowan University women's soccer team earned a 1-0 road victory over Mount Olive on Wednesday evening. The Hawks struck in the first half as Riley Donnelly found the back of the net to give Chowan the upper hand. With the win, the Hawks improve to 5-5-1 overall and 5-2-1 in conference play, while the Trojans drop to 4-7-1 on the season and 2-5-1 in league action.

Riley Donnelly netted the game-winning goal in the 31st minute after connecting on a pass from Jayda Dubeck. Lily Harrison kept the pressure on offensively, registering three shots with one on target, while Amy Cotton added a shot on goal of her own.
In goal, Gracie Ross recorded seven saves on the night as the Hawks defense held strong, turning away all 19 of the Trojans attempts to secure the shutout victory.
