Chowan Outpowers Southern Wesleyan in 4-1 Win

MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan University men's soccer team earned a decisive 4-1 victory over Southern Wesleyan University on Saturday evening. Offensively, three Hawks found the back of the net, while the defense delivered a strong performance to secure the win. With Saturday's victory, the Hawks improve to 5-3-2 overall and 3-2-2 in Conference Carolinas play, while the Warriors fall to 3-7-1 overall and 1-6-1 in the league.

The Hawks closed out the evening with 14 total shots, including five on goal, compared to the Warriors six shots and four on target. Cameron Letterlough led the offensive charge with three shots and a pair of goals — the first coming in the 15th minute off an assist from Matty Doyle, and the second early in the second half at the 59:45 mark. Clay Verdin added three shots and opened the scoring for the Hawks in the 13th minute with an assist from Harry Baker, while Bradley Binns sealed the match with Chowan's final goal in the 80th minute. Dillon Rajkovic also tallied three shots, with Jeevan Purewal adding two, and Bradley Williams and Henry Jorge-Garcia each contributing one.

Defensively, the Hawks remained aggressive, regaining possession and maintaining steady pressure throughout the match. In goal, Lucas Kibrya recorded three saves over 87 minutes of play before David Agudelo entered to close out the contest.
