SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Chowan Men's Basketball team bowed out of the 2024 Atlantic Casualty Conference Carolinas Men's Basketball Championship in the Semifinals on Saturday afternoon falling to nationally-ranked Emmanuel.

Daylan Askew led the Hawks with 18 points and four steals, Askew was named Conference Carolinas All-Tournament. RJ Wilson tallied 14 points and six rebounds. Damerius Summers came off the bench to post 13 points on 6-9 shooting.
Cheick Traore hauled in a team-high 11 rebounds to go with nine points.
Both teams shot 50-plus percent in the first half from the floor with the difference coming at the charity stripe as the Hawks were 2-7 from the line to trail 37-34.
Emmanuel stretched their lead to double-digits in the early portion of the second frame, 52-40. The Hawks were unable to sustain the pressure against the Lions after cutting the deficit to four, 69-65, with four minutes remaining.
Chowan shot 30.3% in the second half. The Hawks fall to 0-3 in league semifinal contests (2009-10 and 2020-21 seasons).
SEASON RECAP
Chowan posted a program best 20 wins on the season and secured their third trip to the league's semifinals, second in the Conference Carolinas and first since the 2020-21 season.
