MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – The Chowan Baseball team opened up the Conference Carolinas series fast but was unable to keep pace with nationally-ranked Mount Olive on Friday.

Ryan Bellamy, Elvis Rumaldo, Geomar Santana, and Patrick Krack posted two hits each. Bellamy and Santana notched a double, while Rumaldo posted a home run. All four recorded a RBI.
The Hawks registered five walks in the contest, but could not string things together.
Chowan opened the contest with a pair of doubles leading to two runs. Mount Olive used a six-run third inning and a five-run sixth to separate.
