Chowan's Slow Start Hinders Hawks Against Lions

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, GA. – The Chowan Women's Lacrosse team dropped their Conference Carolinas opener on the road against Emmanuel on Saturday afternoon.

Grace Taylor led the Hawks with three goals.  Victoria Brown added two goals, while Gracie Timken posted one goal.

Charity Brown, Naila Smith, and Blake Tutman tallied one assist.  Tutman added five ground balls and three draw controls.

Emmanuel jumped out to an 8-1 lead in the first quarter.  The Hawks turned the ball over 13 times in the first half leading to 6-12 on clears.

Chowan hosts Southern Wesleyan on Saturday, March 9 in Conference Carolinas action.  Opening draw control is slated for 12pm.
