PEMBROKE, N.C. – The Chowan Baseball team could not hang on to an early lead in the late inning rally by UNC Pembroke in the first game of the Conference Carolinas series on Saturday.

Ryan Bellamy and Jackson Dunlap led the Hawks with two hits each. Bellamy hit a home run to start the rally.
Christian Allen picked up a double with two RBI. Dawerlyn Amancio and Ty Johnson added a hit.
Chowan led 5-1 but surrendered three runs in the bottom of the third inning. The Hawks rallied to take a 7-4 lead before the Braves countered with three runs in the bottom of the fourth and five in the sixth.
