MURFREESBORO, N.C. – Daylan Askew broke the Chowan Division II single-game scoring mark with 39 points to lift the Chowan Men's Basketball team to a season sweep of their rivals, Barton, in Conference Carolinas action on Wednesday night.

Daylan Askew collected 39 points on 12-23 shooting from the floor and 11-13 from the charity stripe. Askew broke the record held by Jaylen Dillard (38 points, at Southern Wesleyan).
Skyler Davies and RJ Wilson added double-doubles. Davies collected a career-high 16 rebounds to go with 10 points and two blocks as Wilson added his 11th double-double of the season with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Damerius Summers tallied seven points, five rebounds, and four blocks in 10 minutes of action.
Both teams battled could not gain more than a five point advantage in the opening frame as the halftime score settled at 38-37.
Chowan trailed 39-38 early in the second half before Daylan Askew hit a triple and the Hawks never looked back. Barton knotted the score at 64-all and 69-all, but could not regain the lead.
The Hawks went on a 9-2 run in the final 90 seconds.
