MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Softball team battled to force extra innings but suffered the twinbill loss on Sunday afternoon to Fairmont State.

Cailyn Nowell led the attack with four hits including 3-4 in the first game. Mckenzie Misenheimer, Kyra Helton, and Elizabeth Ingle collected three hits each.
Mckenzie Misenheimer and Elizabeth Ingle hit a home run in the seventh inning to send the contest to extra innings of game one. For Ingle, it was her first collegiate home run.
Lenita Bryson went 2-2 with two walks and two RBI in game one.
Haleigh Reid collected a three RBI triple, while Megan Leon and Sophia Medina picked up a hit each.
