Chowan Takes Series Against SWU, Drops Finale

MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Baseball team picked up their first series win in Conference Carolinas in 2024 after splitting the final two games of the series on Sunday.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORES

Geomar Santana led the Hawks with four hits along with three RBI after posting two doubles and a home run.  Ryan Bellamy collected four hits and one RBI.

Dawerlyn Amancio and Caleb Karie notched three hits each.  Amancio added two doubles and three RBI.

Nick Reiss and Tyler West picked up two hits each.

Elvis Rumaldo posted a home run with three RBI and two walks.

Chowan left 15 runners on base in the final game of the series.

Angel Diaz picked up his third save of the season tossing a scoreless seventh inning.  Matthew Lovitt picked up the win in relief for his first win of the season.

UP NEXT

Chowan takes a step out of league play to take on Mid-Atlantic Christian a mini-series with the Hawks hosting the Mustangs on Tuesday, February 27 at 1pm before heading to Elizabeth City on Wednesday.
