MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Men's Basketball team picked up a milestone victory in more ways than one in the 77-59 victory over Mount Olive in Conference Carolinas East Division action on Wednesday evening.

Midway through the second half, Daylan Askew knocked down a three-pointer from the right wing to become the sixth Chowan Division II player to achieve 1,000 career points, and the 13th Chowan NCAA player to reach that mark. Askew finished with 20 points.
Aaron Ross chipped in with 12 points and Skyler Davies collected 11 points. RJ Wilson and Cheick Traore hauled in 13 rebounds each. Wilson finished with nine points.
The Hawks held the Trojans to 33.8% shooting from the floor and 25.9% from deep. Chowan kept the pressure on shooting 59.3% from the floor in the second half.
For Coach Rob Burke, win 16 on the season is the most under his watch and the most wins for the program since the 2016-17 season.
