MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Volleyball team's rally came up short in the opening match of the Chowan Volleyball Tournament against Shippensburg on Thursday evening.

Ryan Nored led the Hawks with a team-high seven kills.  Haydon Ahlers and Caleigh Bergling collected three kills each.  Bergling tallied three aces.

Olivia Valdez posted 14 digs to pace the defense.  Shippensburg posted double-digit kills in each set.  Kaleigh Lance posted three blocks in the contest.
