ROME, GA. – Redzone offense along with special teams miscues forced the Chowan Football team to play catch up in their loss to Shorter in Gulf South Conference action on Saturday.

Shorter used two defensive scores and a punt return for a touchdown to give Shorter the momentum.
Rashad McKee tossed for two touchdowns, Demetrius Moore and Tyree Holloway, to pace the offense. Moore had three catches for 137 yards.
The Shorter defense posted three interceptions and four sacks to hinder the Chowan offense.
Patric Talbot recorded 10 punts in the contest with two being over 50+ yards.
Defensively, Nic Wilson and Abdural Lee registered their first interceptions of the season. Traevon Mitchell and Quentin Perry notched a sack on the day. Mitchell led the defense with eight tackles and 2.0 TFLs.
Chowan was 2-4 in the redzone. The Hawks went 5-18 on third down.
