GREENVILLE, S.C. – As the Fall season is knocking on the door, the Conference Carolinas released the 2023 Fall Preseason Poll this week for men's and women's soccer, women's volleyball, and men's and women's cross country.

The Chowan Men's Soccer program, coming off a 6-6-5 overall record in 2022 will look to shake off an early exit in the Conference Carolinas Tournament as the Hawks were picked to finish fifth this season.  Reigning league defensive player of the year, Harri Lovett, returns as captain to lead the squad along with returning goal scorer Leke Ademola listed as players to watch.

The full league release can be found here.  Chowan opens the season on August 31 in the Shope Classic hosted by Lees-McRae as the Hawks battle Lincoln Memorial.

The Chowan Women's Soccer team was picked to finish seventh in the preseason after finishing with a 5-10-2 overall record.  Chowan returns 21 players from last year including all-conference selections Lieke van den Akker and Destiny Makanjuola.

The Hawks open the season at home on August 31 against nationally-ranked Catawba.  The full league release can be found here.

The Chowan Volleyball program was selected to finish 11th in the preseason poll with two points away from being selected ninth in the poll.  The Hawks posted a 10-20 overall record last season.  New head coach, Kameron Beans has high expectations with a strong mix of returners and newcomers.  Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Year, Diana Rodriguez, along with Ellie Middleton return for the Hawks.

Chowan opens the season on the road in Petersburg, Va. in a tournament hosted by Virginia State on September 1.  The full league release can be found here.

The Chowan Men's and Women's Cross Country programs were selected to finish 14th overall.  The Hawks will be led by Andrew Garrison and Ke'Shawn Taylor for the men, while Valentina Domenicone will look to take charge on the women's side.

The Hawks head to the Blue Marlin Invitational on Sept. 1 to start the season.  The full league release can be found here (men) and here (women).
