MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Women's Lacrosse team started quickly but faded in the Hawks' Senior Day loss to Emmanuel in Conference Carolinas action on a rainy Saturday afternoon.

The group of seniors produced all of the offense as Rebekah Lucas and Naila Smith tallied two goals each. Trinity Walker posted one goal.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Rebekah Lucas put the Hawks on the board early in the first frame before a free position goal by Trinity Walker put the Hawks up 2-0 midway through the quarter.
Emmanuel would find the net on a woman-up opportunity to cut into the deficit before Rebekah Lucas scored with five seconds left off the assist by Sarai Sanders to lead 3-1.
The Lions would score five straight goals in the second quarter to take the lead 6-3 before Naila Smith scored in the final minute of the half to trail 6-4 at the intermission.
Emmanuel pushed their lead to 12-4 prior to another Naila Smith goal in the waning seconds of the frame. The Lions finished off the scoring with four goals in the fourth quarter, 16-5.
