MURFREESBORO, N.C. – Throughout the 2022-2023 Chowan Athletic season, the Chowan Athletic Department will feature the Ace Hardware Student-Athletes of the Week.

For the week of February 21 – February 27, Mckenzie Misenheimer of Softball and Cheick Traore of Men's Basketball for their efforts on their respective teams during the week.

Mckenzie Misenheimer| Freshman | #2 | OF | Softball | Rockwell, N.C.

Mckenzie helped the Hawks to a 4-1 record this week hitting .500 (5-10) with a home run, four RBI, six runs scored, five walks and two hit by pitches.  Misenheimer also went 5-7 in stolen bases along with 13 putouts.

The Rockwell, N.C. native would hit her first collegiate home run against Virginia Union with a three-run home run.

Cheick Traore | Junior | #24 | Forward | Men's Basketball | Charlotte, N.C.

Cheick came off the bench and was a force against Barton during the week.  The forward hauled in 12 rebounds (four offensive) with a block and a steal in 15 minutes of action to give the Hawks a 92-85 win on senior day against their rivals.
