MURFREESBORO, N.C. – Throughout the 2022-2023 Chowan Athletic season, the Chowan Athletic Department will feature the Ace Hardware Student-Athletes of the Week.
For the week of February 6 – February 12, Trinity Walker of Women's Lacrosse and Daylan Askew of Men's Basketball for their efforts on their respective teams during the week.
Trinity Walker | #5 | Midfield | Senior | Women's Lacrosse | Capital Heights, Md.
Trinity Walker played strong defense against Methodist last week recording six caused turnovers and eight ground balls.
Six caused turnovers ranks fifth most in a single game, while eight ground balls are fourth most in program history.
Daylan Askew | #0 | Guard | Sophomore | Men's Basketball | Ahoskie, N.C.
Daylan averaged 22.5 points per game while shooting 68.0% from the floor in the two games last week. The Ahoskie, N.C. native started the week off with a career-high 26 points on 10-12 (83.3%) shooting in a 112-92 victory over Mount Olive.
Askew finished off the week with 19 points on 7-13 (53.8%) shooting to help lead the Hawks to a 98-90 victory over Belmont Abbey.
