WISE, VA. – RJ Wilson's three-pointer with just under a minute to go gave the Chowan Men's Basketball team enough distance to fight off the Cavaliers of UVA Wise in non-conference action on Monday afternoon.

Daylan Askew led the Hawks with 20 points and nine rebounds, scoring 14 points in the second half. RJ Wilson added 15 points and nine rebounds.
Damerius Summers added 10 points off the bench.
Chowan trailed 9-0 early before ending the half on a 22-9 run to lead 36-28 at the intermission. The Hawks would build their lead to 16, 46-30, with 16:13 remaining before UVA Wise regained the lead, 71-69, with 2:24 remaining.
RJ Wilson knocked down a three-pointer with 59 seconds remaining to give the Hawks a 77-74 lead. Wilson's triple was the difference in the contest.

Chowan takes time for the holiday break before returning to the court on December 30 when the Hawks make the return trip to Elizabeth City, N.C. to take on Elizabeth City State. Tip-off is slated for 2pm.
