MURFREESBORO, N.C. – Three interceptions and six sacks cost the Chowan Football team in a 31-16 Gulf South Conference contest against North Greenville on Homecoming Saturday.

Traevon Mitchell and Abdural Lee led the defense with seven tackles each. Evan McGhee tallied six tackles including a sack.
The Chowan defense forced three interceptions as Kmare Carey, Fofie Bazzie, and D'Armani Ridley collected an interception each. Carey returned his for 44 yards to put the Hawks in the redzone.
Romeo Felton led the rushing attack with 73 yards on 12 carries. Rashad McKee accounted for two touchdowns, one passing and one rushing. Deven Franklin hauled in the touchdown pass.
Chowan would rally from a 17-3 halftime deficit to cut the NGU lead to 17-16 as the tying extra point was blocked with 46 seconds remaining in the third quarter.
The Hawks gave up four sacks and threw two interceptions in the fourth quarter.
