CARROLLTON, GA. – The Chowan Football team gave up seven sacks in the loss to West Georgia in Gulf South Conference action on Saturday night on the road.

Rashad McKee provided most of the offense in the contest with 303 yards passing and 25 yards rushing to account for three touchdowns.
The Hawks posted a majority of their rushing yards in the first half, being held to -15 yards in the second half. West Georgia racked up 238 yards on the ground.
For the first time since the 2021 season, a pair of Chowan receivers went over the 100-yard mark in the same game. Noah Toster led the Hawks with seven receptions for 118 yards. Tyree Holloway hauled in four catches for 113 yards and a touchdown.
Abdural Lee and Fofie Bazzie tallied seven tackles each. Jayshaun Alston and Dwayne Smith collected one sack each. Smith also recovered a fumble.
The defense held the Wolves to 25% on third down.
Chowan cut the deficit to 28-24 with 12:18 remaining in the fourth quarter. The Hawks would get the ball back with 6:43 remaining before going three-and-out on the next drive.
