HOW IT HAPPENED

First Half:

Chowan went on the attack early as Cristina Flores had a shot turned away just 1:44 into the contest.  Francis Marion went on the counter-attack to have a shot saved in the fourth minute.

The Patriots found the opening goal of the contest in the ninth minute as a shot from distance off a through ball would find the upper right corner for the 1-0 advantage.

Regan Jackson and Cristina Flores recorded back-to-back shots that would require a save.  Natasha Bailey nearly found the equalizer in the 42' as her shot bounced off the crossbar.

Second Half:

Regan Jackson continued to produce quality shots for the Hawks as a shot in the 51' was turned away from goal.  Jackson had another shot in the 58' that required a save.

After a foul by the Patriots in the 65', Lieke Van den Akker sent in the free kick to the right allowing Mayara Engel to send the ball into the middle of the six-yard box for Regan Jackson to collect the goal.

FMU sent several shots towards cage in the closing minutes of the contest but was unable to slip one past Kirsten Peterson.

In the 90', Destiny Makanjuola sailed a shot to the left for the final attempt for the Hawks.
