MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Women's Soccer team was dealt a 5-0 loss in the home opener against nationally-ranked Concord on Saturday evening.

Chowan recorded 10 shots in the contest led by Natasha Bailey with three shots. Cristina Flores notched two shots on frame. Regan Jackson, Bailey, and Nicole Mejia posted a shot on goal.
Allison Traub notched eight saves in goal.
HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half:
Concord would strike on their first shot of the contest as a through ball allowed a breakaway in the fourth minute. The Mountain Lions continued their attack finding the back of the net in the 20' for a 2-0 lead.
Allison Traub notched three saves before Regan Jackson notched a shot on goal in the 27'.
The Mountain Lions added a goal in the 35' before an own goal in the 45' pushed the advantage to 4-0.
Second Half:
Cristina Flores recorded a shot on frame in the 46' but the Mountain Lions turned it into a counter-attack finding the back of the net less than a minute later to lead 5-0.
Chowan's best look came in the 68' as Natasha Bailey's attempt from close range was turned away along with Nicole Mejia's shot from inside the six-yard box was turned away for a corner kick.
