TAMPA, FLA. – The Chowan Men's Soccer team was unable to muster enough chances against Tampa in a regional showdown of nationally-ranked teams on Saturday evening.

Charlie Farrar was forced to make eight saves in goal.
Chowan recorded four shots in the contest with one shot on goal compared to 17 shots with 10 shots on frame for the Spartans.
HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half:
Tampa came out aggressive recording three shots in the first 10 minutes of action. The Spartans would find the back of the net in the 14' for the only goal needed in the contest.
In the 19', Bradley Binns notched a shot that would be blocked and sent out for a corner kick.
The defensive stalemate continued into the halftime whistle.
Second Half:
The Spartans continued to pepper the goal forcing Charlie Farrar to come up with saves. In the 59', Oliver Kemp notched the only shot on goal for the Hawks as his attempt into the bottom right corner was turned away.
Off a corner kick in the 67', Joao Victor Do Nascimento missed the target before Tampa recorded a pair of shots on frame.
