HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half:
The rivalry was apparent from the opening touch as Mount Olive committed a foul just 14 seconds into the contest. The free kick from Harri Lovett would find the back post and go through the keeper's hands just 23 seconds into the match to put the Hawks up 1-0.
Chowan would add to the tally in the 11' as Ausar Omwenga played the ball up the right side of the pitch and found the head of Tren Drexhage in the center of the box off a cross for the 2-0 advantage.
It did not take the Trojans long to find the answer as UMO would cut the deficit in half just 40 seconds later.
As things would start to settle down, Mount Olive would be handed a yellow card for a hard tackle in the box as Leke Amendola was attacking deep in the box. Harri Lovett would convert the penalty to give the Hawks a 3-1 lead in the 28'.
Once again, the Trojans exploited the Hawks' back-line scoring 45 seconds later to cut the deficit to 3-2.
Mount Olive looked for the equalizer late in the half but would be turned away by Charlie Farrar in goal.
Second Half:
Leke Ademola started the attack in the half with a shot that would require a save from the keeper near the top of the box. The shot would ricochet out for a throw in. The ensuing throw in would allow Harri Lovett to find Dennis Bates on the back post for the easy goal to put the Hawks up 4-2 in the 49'.
The duo nearly connected again in the 68' as Dennis Bates' attempt would bounce off the far post and away from danger. Wesley Illes had a chance to increase the advantage in the 70' on a breakaway but a sliding keeper got the attempt away from the goal.
Heads up attacking by the Trojans led to the final goal of the contest in the 79' as a slow play back to the keeper allowed the Mount Olive attack to steal the ball and poke the ball into the back of the net from the top of the box to close the gap to 4-3.
Off a free kick in the 82', Dru Detlefsen's headed attempt had to be cleared off the goal line by a defender for a team save.
