MURFREESBORO, N.C. – Throughout the 2022-2023 Chowan Athletic season, the Chowan Athletic Department will feature the Ace Hardware Student-Athletes of the Week.

For the week of September 19 – September 25, Mayara Engel of Women's Soccer and Andrew Garrison of Men's Cross Country were named the Ace Hardware Student-Athletes of the Week for their efforts on their respective teams during the week.

Mayara Engel | D | #20 | Freshman | Women's Soccer | Amstelveen, Netherlands

Mayara provided the spark for the Hawks on the road against Emmanuel as her strike in the 82' gave the Blue and White the 1-0 victory in Conference Carolinas play.  Chowan moved to 2-1-1 in league play with the win.

Andrew Garrison | Freshman | Men's Cross Country | Franklin, N.C.

In his first competition for the Hawks, Andrew finished 10th overall at the Virginia State Invite to lead the Hawks.  Garrison's time of 29:49.8 is the third fastest 8K time in program history and the fastest time by a Hawk since 2017 to run a sub-30 minute time.
