MURFREESBORO, N.C. – Throughout the 2022-2023 Chowan Athletic season, the Chowan Athletic Department will feature the Ace Hardware Student-Athletes of the Week.

For the week of September 5 – September 11, Kirsten Peterson of Women's Soccer and Ke'Shawn Taylor of Men's Cross Country were named the Ace Hardware Student-Athletes of the Week for their efforts on their respective teams during the week.

Kirsten Peterson | GK | #29 | Junior | Women's Soccer | Medway, Mass.

Kirsten helped lead the Hawks to a 1-0-1 week after back-to-back stellar performances in goal.  Kirsten allowed one goal and notched six saves in the 1-1 draw against Francis Marion on Sept. 7 and followed up the performance on Sept. 10 by registering her first career win in goal allowing one goal and stopping three shots in a 5-1 victory over Southern Wesleyan.

Ke'Shawn Taylor | Junior | Men's Cross Country | Como, N.C.

Ke'Shawn continued to build off the first meet of the season by posting a career-best time at the Wilmington Beach Blast on Sept. 9.  The junior would trek the 5K course in 22:15.66 to improve his time by 32 seconds to finish first for the Hawks.
