SALISBURY, N.C. – The Chowan Women's Soccer team was unable to muster much offense as the Hawks dropped a non-conference neutral site contest against Tampa on Saturday afternoon.

Nicole Mejia and Natasha Bailey was the only offense for the Hawks recording three shots as Mejia registered a pair of shots.
Kirsten Peterson recorded seven saves in goal.
HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half:
Tampa would jump on the board in the 8' after Kirsten Peterson made three saves to start the contest.
Nicole Mejia registered the first shot for the Hawks in the 14' as her attempt missed high.
The Spartans add a goal in the 33' to take a 2-0 advantage. Tampa added to their advantage in the 38' with a shot into the lower corner.
Second Half:
Tampa continued to push the pace offensively as the Spartans recorded three shots in the opening minutes of the half.
Nicole Mejia recorded another shot for the Hawks in the 61', but the attempt sailed wide.
The Spartans added a goal in the 66' to extend their advantage to 4-0. Five minutes later, Tampa tacked on another goal to lead 5-0.
In the 83', Natasha Bailey would record a shot that would miss to the left for the final offensive threat in the contest for the Hawks.
