GAFFNEY, S.C. – The Chowan Women's Soccer team dropped their season opener on the road against Limestone on Thursday evening.

Kirsten Peterson played strong in goal collecting four saves. The Hawks were held without a shot in the contest.
HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half:
Limestone would strike first in the opening four minutes of the contest to put the Hawks on their back foot. The Saints recorded six shots in the opening 20 minutes while holding the Hawks without a shot.
A foul near the top of the box on a breakaway forced the Hawks to play down a player in the 23'. The Saints would take advantage in the 38' off a corner to move the score to 2-0.
Chowan would be unable to record a shot in the opening half of the contest.
Second Half:
The defensive unit for the Hawks played strong keeping the Saints off the board in the second half despite playing a man-down in the frame.
