WILSON, N.C. – The Chowan Men's Lacrosse team saw their season come to a close in the Conference Carolinas Quarterfinals against their rivals, Barton, on Tuesday afternoon on the road.

Eric George and Jaxon Martin recorded four goals each, while Noah Jalal added three goals. Erik Dozzi paced the offense with three assists as George, Harrison Buckman, and Sullivan Prince added one assist.
Jackson Downs produced one goal. Alec Rodopoulos posted 17 saves.
HOW IT HAPPENED
First Quarter:
Chowan started hot as Sullivan Prince found Eric George for the opening tally of the contest. Jackson Downs found the back of the net to put the Hawks up 2-0.
Barton answered with a pair of goals before Jaxon Martin scored off an assist by Erik Dozzi. Eric George scored unassisted to put the Hawks up 4-2.
The Bulldogs scored three unanswered goals to lead 5-4.
Second Quarter:
Eric George found Noah Jalal on the extra-man to even the score before Barton scored a pair of goals. Noah Jalal collected a goal before the Bulldogs climbed out in front 9-6.
Chowan closed the gap before the end of the half as Eric George scored on an assist by Harrison Buckman followed by an unassisted goal by Noah Jalal to trim the deficit to 9-8.
Third Quarter:
Barton scored three goals to open the frame before Jaxon Martin found the back of the net. Martin scored again in the frame as Erik Dozzi collected the assist on the goals.
The Bulldogs extended their lead to 16-10 before Jaxon Martin scored his single-season record 59th goal of the season to conclude the frame.
Fourth Quarter:
Barton continued their second half surge with five goals to push their advantage to 21-11. Eric George scored the final goal for the Hawks late in the frame.
SEASON HIGHLIGHTS
Jaxon Martin scored a program high 59 goals this season. Erik Dozzi registered a program record 34 assists this season. Eric George notched 54 goals on the season. Martin and George became the second pair to register 50+ goals in a single season joining former Hawks, Anthony Alfonso and Nick Lavoy from the 2018 campaign.
Chowan finished the season with a 6-8 overall record and their second trip to the Conference Carolinas Quarterfinals, and their first since the 2018 season.
