MURFREESBORO, N.C. – Throughout the 2022-2023 Chowan Athletic season, the Chowan Athletic Department will feature the Ace Hardware Student-Athletes of the Week.
For the week of November 28 – December 4, Demetria Bland of Women's Basketball and RJ Wilson of Men's Basketball for their efforts on their respective teams during the week.

Demetria Bland led the Hawks to a pair of victories last week after averaging 14.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 2.5 steals per game.
Bland led off the week with a season-high 16 points including 9-10 from the stripe and two steals in the win against Mount Olive on the road. The senior followed up with that performance with 12 points, seven rebounds, four assists, and three steals in the win over Lees-McRae.
RJ Wilson | F | #33 | Senior | Men's Basketball | Raleigh, N.C.
RJ Wilson helped lead the team to three wins during the week to run the streak to four games. RJ posted 9.3 points and 7.0 rebounds per game while shooting 61.1% from the floor during the week.
The Raleigh, N.C. native started the week with nine points and six rebounds in a blowout win against St. Augustine's. RJ followed up with a season-high 11 points on 5-7 shooting to go with four rebounds in the road win over Mount Olive. The post player finished off the week with eight points and a season-high 11 rebounds in the victory over Lees-McRae.
