MURFREESBORO, N.C. – Throughout the 2022-2023 Chowan Athletic season, the Chowan Athletic Department will feature the Ace Hardware Student-Athletes of the Week.

For the week of November 7 – November 13, Aniah Patterson of Women's Basketball and Nijere Peoples of Football for their efforts on their respective teams during the week.

Aniah Patterson | G | #14 | Senior | Women's Basketball | Dover, Del.

Aniah led the Hawks to a 1-1 opening weekend averaging 12.0 points and 3.0 rebounds per game.  Patterson scored a team-high 19 points to rally from a double-digit deficit to beat 2021 NCAA Tournament participant, Columbus State, in the season opener.

Nijere Peoples | RB | #32 | Graduate Student | Football | Charlotte, N.C.

Nijere carried the ball 16 times for 65 yards and three touchdowns in the CIAA Championship loss to Fayetteville State.  The three touchdowns in the game are tied for the most in a CIAA Championship game.  Peoples had a pair of 11-yard touchdown runs along with a two-yard touchdown run that put the Hawks up 28-21 in the fourth quarter.
