HOW IT HAPPENED

First Half:

Bradley Binns recorded the first shot in the contest as the attempt from the middle of the box was snagged out of the air in the seventh minute.  Ausar Omwenga tried the lower right corner but was stopped by the Crusader's keeper.

Charlie Farrar corralled a shot in the 11' in the middle of the frame.

Harri Lovett would send in the cleared corner back into the box finding Dennis Bates who found the top left corner through the keeper's hands to lead 1-0 in the 22'.  Bates tried to make it 2-0 in the 25' as his attempt missed high.

After a pair of missed shots for the Hawks, Kia Rymes put a shot on goal in the 34' attempting to find the lower center portion of the goal from outside of the box.  Jamie Moore tried from distance in the 37' that was brought in by the keeper.

Second Half:

Belmont Abbey posted the first shot of the half in the 48' as Charlie Farrar picked up the save.  James Randall missed just right in the 52'.

The Crusaders were given a trio of free kicks in the attacking third, but the Chowan defense would keep the ball from getting close to the goal.

Chowan would add an insurance goal in the 72' as an attempted clear out off the corner kick would find the foot of Kai Rymes allowing the defender to navigate the strike through the defense and into the lower left corner of the goal for the 2-0 lead.

Charlie Farrar would keep the clean sheet in the 78' as a tough shot down to the right portion of the goal was saved.

Ausar Omwenga produced a pair of shots in the 79' that required back-to-back saves.
