MURFREESBORO, N.C. – Throughout the 2022-2023 Chowan Athletic season, the Chowan Athletic Department will feature the Ace Hardware Student-Athletes of the Week.

For the week of October 17 – October 23, Valentina Domenicone of Women's Cross Country and Caleb Hester of Football were named the Ace Hardware Student-Athletes of the Week for their efforts on their respective teams during the week.

Valentina Domenicone | Junior | Women's Cross Country | Santa Fe Argentina

Valentina stepped in to help the Women's Cross Country team and finished sixth overall, but first for the Hawks at the dual meet against Elizabeth City State.  Valentina posted the fastest time for the team this season with a time of 33:20.90.

Caleb Hester | Defensive Back | #23 | Redshirt Sophomore | Football | Mebane, N.C.

Caleb was a key contributor in the win against Bowie State over the weekend.  Caleb posted three tackles, three pass break-ups, and two blocked PATs.  One of his pass break-ups came in the redzone that led to a missed field goal.  After Bowie State scored in the second quarter, Hester blocked the PAT that would have tied the contest.  The second blocked PAT came in the fourth quarter as BSU took the lead, 15-13.
