MURFREESBORO, N.C. – Throughout the 2022-2023 Chowan Athletic season, the Chowan Athletic Department will feature the Ace Hardware Student-Athletes of the Week.

For the week of October 10 – October 16, Ellie Middleton of Volleyball and Demetrius Moore of Football were named the Ace Hardware Student-Athletes of the Week for their efforts on their respective teams during the week.

Ellie Middleton | Outside Hitter | #3 | Sophomore | Volleyball | Petersburg, Ky.

Ellie helped the Hawks to a 2-1 week including two big wins in Conference Carolinas action.  Middleton collected 25 kills, 29 digs, and four blocks during the week.  The sophomore posted 11 kills, six digs, and two blocks against Barton, while narrowly missing out on a double-double against Belmont Abbey with 10 kills, nine digs, one block, and three assists.

Demetrius Moore | Wide Receiver | #12 | Redshirt Sophomore | Football | Yorktown, Va.

Demetrius helped the Hawks to an exciting 43-40 victory over Virginia State for Homecoming.  The do-it-all receiver posted 52 yards passing, 13 rushing yards, 51 yards receiving, and a two-point conversion toss.  Moore's 51 yards receiving came in the final minute of the contest that set up the go-ahead touchdown.  The sophomore would convert the two-point conversion following the touchdown.
