WILSON, N.C. – After two first half goals, the Chowan Women's Soccer team's upset bid against their rivals, Barton, came up just a few seconds short as the Conference Carolinas road contest ended up in a draw on Tuesday evening.

Regan Jackson collected her fifth goal of the season, while Lillian DeLucca nets her first of the season.
Lieke Van den Akker added her sixth assist. Allison Traub collected five saves before departing.
HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half:
Chowan would find the back of the net on their first attack as Regan Jackson's initial attempt was blocked and bounced back to Jackson who deposited the shot into the far post in the 8' to put the Hawks up 1-0.
Allison Traub made her first save in the 18' as both teams settled in.
The Hawks would strike again in the 38' as Lieke Van den Akker sent in a cross to the middle of the box to Lillian DeLucca allowing DeLucca to find the right corner to put the Hawks up 2-0.
Chowan would head into the intermission with a 2-0 advantage.
Second Half:
Allison Traub was tasked to make two early saves in the opening minutes of the half. Nicole Mejia and Natasha Bailey posted shots on goal but were turned away.
Barton continued to pepper the goal as Allison Traub made a pair of saves before the Bulldogs were able to find the back of the net in the 72'.
Less than a minute later, a collision inside the box forced a change in goal for the Hawks. Kirsten Peterson would be forced to make some tough plays early in her shift to keep the Hawks in front.
Cristina Flores and Natasha Bailey posted shots on goal that would be turned away.
The Bulldogs would find the equalizer in the 87' as the shot from distance found the top shelf.
In the waning seconds of the match, Natasha Bailey thought she had won it for the Hawks as her shot found the back of the net but was after the horn had sounded before the shot attempt was taken.
