MURFREESBORO, N.C. – Throughout the 2022-2023 Chowan Athletic season, the Chowan Athletic Department will feature the Ace Hardware Student-Athletes of the Week.

For the week of October 3 – October 9, Diana Rodriguez of Volleyball and Aleksei Belolipetskii of Men's Swimming were named the Ace Hardware Student-Athletes of the Week for their efforts on their respective teams during the week.

Diana Rodriguez | Libero | #1 | Freshman | Volleyball | Tijuana, Mexico

Diana recorded a program record 45 digs in the 3-2 victory over Converse to wrap up the record-breaking week.  Rodriguez posted 110 digs, 10 assists, and eight service aces to lead the Hawks to a 2-1 record for the week.

Aleksei Belolipetskii| Freshman | Men's Swimming | Volgograd, Russia

Aleksei started off the meet with a first-place finish in the 100 Free where he would break the school record in the event with a time of 47.83.  The freshman would then take the top-spot in the 100 Breast with a time of 1:00.33 for the fourth fastest time in program history in the event.  Belolipetskii wrapped up the meet with a first-place finish in the 200 Free Relay.
