MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Women's Basketball team hits the road for a weekend trip to South Carolina to take on Southern Wesleyan and Erskine in Conference Carolinas action.
The Chowan Men's Basketball contests against Southern Wesleyan and Erskine have been postponed because of health and safety protocols. The teams are working to reschedule within the constraints of the league schedule.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL NOTES
Chowan enters the contest with a 7-4 overall record and a 7-2 mark in league play. The Hawks are winners of four straight and ranked #10 in the D2SIDA Southeast Regional poll for the second straight week.
The Blue and White have not played since their 63-51 victory over Converse on January 7.
Destiny Robinson paces the team with 14.7 points and 9.7 rebounds per game. Demetria Bland has scored in double-figures in three of the last four contests.
The Hawks lead the Conference Carolinas in blocked shots per game (5.3), rebounds per game (46.1), defensive and offensive rebounds per game (29.1/17.0), and three-point defense (22.2%). Chowan is fourth in the country in rebounds per game and sixth in three-point defense.
Chowan is 5-1 all-time against Southern Wesleyan with the Hawks doubling up the Warriors 82-41 on February 6, 2021. The Hawks are 2-2 against Erskine all-time as Chowan took the first meeting of the season 69-45.
THE OPPONENTS
Southern Wesleyan starts the weekend with a 2-9 overall record and a 2-6 record in league play. The Warriors are on a four game losing streak and 0-3 at home this season.
Brittany Mack leads the team averaging 11.1 points per game. Tristen Berry chips in with 9.5 points per game.
Erskine is winless on the season with a 0-12 record and 0-10 in league play. Shanece Mitchell leads the team in scoring averaging 10.6 points per game in nine games this season. Anzya Cook is averaging 10.2 points.
