HOW IT HAPPENED

First Half:

Toby Sims put a shot on frame in the first minute of action as the Hawks had a free kick at the top of the box.  The Queens keeper punched the ball out of harm's way.

After a 40 minute delay following the 9' of play, the Hawks had three shots blocked.

Neither side had a strong chance until London Williams' headed attempt in the 42' was turned away.

Second Half:

Tren Drexhage nearly made it 1-0 in the 47' as his attempt missed to the left.  London Williams followed up with a shot on frame in the 49'.

Off the corner kick, Erik Ruiz collected the attempted clearance and found Toby Sims in the middle of the box to deposit the ball into the back of the net through the Royals' traffic for the 1-0 advantage.

James Randall and Timo De Graaf had a chance to increase the lead but were turned away.

Queens found the equalizer in the 68' as the ball moved from the left side of the box and crossed in front of the goal mouth before being headed back to the near post.

Overtime:

Chowan looked to have won the match in the 92' as Tren Drexhage put the ball in the back of the net but was offside.  Charlie Farrar saved the match in the 95' as Farrar came from the far post and made a punch save on the near post.  The Hawks would block the succeeding two shots.

In the second overtime period, Toby Sims' header would miss high.

The Hawks would take advantage of a set piece as David Falleiros collected his own blocked shot and found the near post in the 109' after coming on as a substitute in the 107'.
