SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Chowan Women's Soccer team suffered a 2-1 defeat in Conference Carolinas action on Saturday afternoon to Converse.

Sabrina Henderson tallied her second goal of the season coming off an assist from Brielle Dumont.
Chowan outshot Converse 14-6 total and held the slight 3-2 advantage on target.
Chowan also posted six corner kicks compared to one for Converse.
HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half:
Sabrina Henderson tallied a shot wide in the fifth minute of play. Converse would take an early 1-0 lead in the 7' on their second shot of the contest.
The Hawks would find the equalizer in the 30' as Brielle Dumont assisted Sabrina Henderson for the goal.
In the 33', Brielle Dumont had an attempt saved.
Both teams were knotted up at 1-all at the intermission.
Second Half:
In the early portion of the second half, Brielle Dumont, Ysa Novak, Kaitlyn Waterman, and Monae Moore had attempts miss wide.
The Valkyries found the go-ahead goal in the 66' to lead 2-1.
Cristina Flores had one final attempt on frame in the 89' but was denied.
