SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Chowan Men's Soccer team needed a bit more time as London Williams netted the game-winning goal in the 96' in a 2-1 victory in Conference Carolinas action against Converse on Saturday afternoon.

Harri Lovett paced the offense with two assists, bringing his total to five this season. London Williams scored his second goal of the season, while Erik Ruiz posted his first.
Charlie Farrar tallied three saves on the afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half:
Alejandro Abreu-Cruz started off the contest with a shot that was forced to be saved in the opening two minutes of action. Erik Ruiz posted a shot on frame in the ninth minute that required a save by the Converse netminder.
Erik Ruiz would not be denied in the 16' as Harri Lovett sent in a throw in that found Ruiz in the box and deposited the attempt into the left top corner for the 1-0 advantage.
Converse posted their first shot on frame in the 31' as Charlie Farrar made the save to his right. 40 seconds later, Farrar made another save to the top right to keep the score at 1-0.
The Valkyries looked for the equalizer in the 36' as a shot was saved by the Hawks netminder.
Dennis Bates tried to make it 2-0 in the 39' as his attempt underneath the crossbar would be turned away.
Second Half:
Neither team looked to get much offensively until the 71' as Otto Fox put a shot on frame for the Hawks that was saved.
Converse would find the equalizer in the 83' to knot the match at 1-all. Tren Drexhage posted a shot that missed high in the 89' for the only shot in the final minutes of regulation.
Overtime:
After a pair of shots missed high for both sides, James Randall's attempt would be blocked and go out for a throw in. Harri Lovett would send in the throw that found London Williams for the game-winner in the 96'.
