Chowan Soccer Faces Converse In League Tilt

MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Men's and Women's Soccer teams travel to Converse for a Conference Carolinas doubleheader on Saturday, September 18.  This will be the first meeting for the men against Converse in their inaugural season.

WOMEN'S SOCCER NOTES

Chowan heads into the Conference Carolinas action with a 0-4-0 overall record and 0-1-0 league record.  The Hawks are led by Sabrina Henderson after scoring her first goal of the season against Catawba.  Carolina Lucci, missed the past two matches, has a goal to her credit.

The Hawks have won the past four meetings against the Valkyries.

HALTING THE VALKYRIES

Converse enters league play with a 0-3-2 overall record and is coming off a pair of draws including a 1-1 draw against Emory & Henry on Wednesday.

Four Valkyries have scored a goal this season led by Kaitlin Danise with one goal and one assist.  The Valkyries split time in goal this season allowing 1.62 goals per match this season.

MEN'S SOCCER UPDATES

Chowan will look to rebound off a Conference Carolinas loss to rival, Mount Olive, during the week to drop the Hawks to 2-2-0 on the season and 1-1-0 in league play.

Toby Sims leads the offense with three goals this season along with being named Conference Carolinas Player of the Week twice.  London Williams and Tren Drexhage have found the back of the net once this season.

FIGURING OUT THE VALKYRIES

Converse, in their inaugural season, are 2-1-1 on the season.  The Valkyries are coming off a 4-4 draw against Catawba on Wednesday.

Hayden Gensler paces the team off the bench with four goals.  Gero Wolters, Tim Boeckstaens, and Jaxon Keene have scored twice.

Converse is allowing 1.66 goals per match while scoring 3.08 goals.
