MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Women's Soccer team was handed a 5-1 loss to regionally-ranked Catawba at home on Wednesday evening.

Sabrina Henderson scored the lone goal for the Hawks in the second half.
Chowan was outshot 29-5 and 12-1 on target attempts.
Allison Traub posted five saves, while Kirsten Peterson recorded one save.
HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half:
In the ninth minute, Regan Jackson posted a header off a corner that would deflect off a defender and go out for another corner.
The Chowan defense played strong until the 27' when a deflected initial shot was put into the back of the net by Catawba.
The backline held once again for a segment as Catawba was able to get another deflection and rebound for a 2-0 lead.
Second Half:
Catawba posted a goal in the 49' to take a 3-0 lead. Kaitlyn Waterman kept a goal off the board with a team save in the 54'.
Sabrina Henderson would take on the Catawba backline down the right side of the pitch and find the far post for her first goal of the season in the 57'.
The Indians grabbed the momentum two minutes later to lead 4-1. Catawba continued to attack as the score increased to 5-1.
