MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – The Chowan Men's Soccer team suffered a 2-0 defeat in Conference Carolinas play on Wednesday evening to Mount Olive.

Tren Drexhage led the Hawks with five shots in the contest and two on frame. The Hawks were outshot 18-14 on the evening but even on attempts on target.
Charlie Farrar made four saves in the contest. The Hawks played the final 17 minutes a man-down.
HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half:
The rivalry started early as Mount Olive was shown two yellow cards in the first 8:28 of the match.
UMO pressured to take four shots, with one being on target. Aldair Anica-Hernandez posted the first shot for the Hawks that missed high in the 24'.
Charlie Farrar, Chowan's netminder, was forced to make a save in the 26'. Timo De Graaf was unable to get his shot on frame off the corner kick in the 28'.
In the 37' and 38', Erik Ruiz and Tren Drexhage had shots saved by the Trojan keeper.
Two minutes later, the Mount Olive coaching staff was shown two red cards.
Both teams went into the intermission at 0-0.
Second Half:
London Williams tried to put the Hawks on the board just 17 ticks into the half but was denied.
Mount Olive would take a 1-0 lead in the 48' finding the lower left corner. James Randall had an attempt blocked in the 49'.
Erik Ruiz nearly found the equalizer in the 55' as his attempt bounced off the left post. Tren Drexhage's attempt in the 64' would be denied.
Charlie Farrar would be forced to make a save in the 67' to keep the score at 1-0. Alex Espinoza was able to put a shot on frame in the 69' but was saved off the deflection.
In the 74', the Hawks had to play a man-down after being shown a second card. The ensuing free-kick, Charlie Farrar would make the save.
The Trojans would find an insurance goal in the 90' to take the contest 2-0.
