Chowan Women's Soccer Opens Season At #14 Concord

MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Women's Soccer team opens the 2021 Fall season on the road against nationally-ranked Concord on Thursday in West Virginia.

GAME NOTES

  • Last Season: Chowan posted an 8-2-1 overall record.
  • The Hawks returns all but one member that saw action during the spring season.  Sabrina Henderson, Sydney Henderson, Carolina Lucci, Michelle Maksimovic, Sierra Gonzalez, and Monae Moore will anchor the team in their final season.
  • Allison Traub returns in goal allowing eight goals during the spring season.

GAME NOTES

  • Last Season: Concord posted an 8-2-0 overall record.
  • Concord returns two of their three leading scorers from the spring season with Yasmin Mosby and Leah Foster leading the way with nine and seven goals respectively.  Mosby also led the team with six assists.
  • Leah Marsh returns in between the pipes allowing seven goals during the spring with six shutouts.

ABOUT THE CONFERENCE CAROLINAS

Conference Carolinas has a rich tradition in roots that dates back to its inception on Dec. 6, 1930. The NCAA Division II athletics conference presently has member schools located in Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. Member institutions for the upcoming 2021-22 athletic year are Barton, Belmont Abbey, Chowan, Converse, Emmanuel, Erskine, Francis Marion, King, Lees-McRae, Mount Olive, North Greenville, Southern Wesleyan and UNC Pembroke.
