Chowan Women's Soccer Hosts Pair In Postseason

MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Women’s Soccer team opens the 2021 Conference Carolinas Spring Women’s Soccer Championship at home against Southern Wesleyan.

The Hawks grabbed the second seed in the championship after posting a 5-1-1 league record.  Chowan will host #10 Southern Wesleyan and #7 Barton in Pool B, while Barton will host Southern Wesleyan during the midweek.

Chowan will start pool play on Sunday, April 18 against Southern Wesleyan at 1pm followed by hosting Barton on Sunday, April 25 at 1pm.  Southern Wesleyan finished with a 1-5-1 league record and lost to the Hawks on March 7, 4-1.  Barton posted a 3-3-1 league record and recently fell to the Hawks in Wilson on April 9, 3-0.

ABOUT THE CONFERENCE CAROLINAS

Conference Carolinas has a rich tradition in roots that dates back to its inception on Dec. 6, 1930. The NCAA Division II athletics conference presently has member schools located in Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. Member institutions for the upcoming 2020-21 athletic year are Barton, Belmont Abbey, Chowan, Converse, Emmanuel, Erskine, King, Lees-McRae, Mount Olive, North Greenville and Southern Wesleyan.

Conference Carolinas will feature 11 members in the 2020-21 academic year before expanding to 13 teams for the 2021-22 academic year with the addition of Francis Marion and UNC Pembroke.
