MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Women's Lacrosse team celebrated senior day against Belmont Abbey on Saturday afternoon.

Seniors Lela Knight and Jordan Nicholson scored a goal. Leia Cabradillia and Grace Taylor posted one goal each.
Senior Mallory Dunker recorded nine saves on the afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half:
Rebekah Lucas would put a shot on goal in the first two minutes of the action as Belmont Abbey scored two goals early.
Leia Cabradillia's free position attempt was saved before Lela Knight scored on a free position shot to close the gap to 5-1.
Grace Taylor registered a couple shots in the middle portion of the half. Belmont Abbey pushed their advantage to 13-1 before Charity Brown's free position attempt was denied.
The Crusaders led 14-1 at the intermission.
Second Half:
Belmont Abbey continued their momentum at the start of the half to lead 18-1. Jordan Nicholson would take it herself to score an unassisted goal.
Grace Taylor posted a shot on goal prior to Leia Cabradillia cleaned up the trash in front of goal with a ground ball pick up and quick strike to cut the deficit to 18-3.
The Hawks' goal spree would end as Grace Taylor found the back of the net to trim the deficit to 18-4 with 12 minutes to play.
BAC finished off the contest with five goals to take the victory 23-4.
