MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Men's Soccer team was able to get strong minutes from younger players in a dominant performance against Southern Wesleyan in Conference Carolinas action on Sunday afternoon.

The Hawks tallied 11 goals in the contest, the second most in program history and most since October 2014 against Ohio Valley (12).
Marlone Nandjeu led the Hawks off the bench with a hat-trick and becoming the 10th time a Hawks scored a hat-trick. Wesley Illes and Harrison Ardron tallied two goals and an assist.
Toby Sims, Sam Hall, London Williams, Zouhair Bettache recorded a goal. Williams posted two assists, along with two assists by Harri Lovett. Justin Williams tallied an assist.
HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half:
On the first shot attempt for the Hawks, Harrison Ardron found the back of the net as the shot with pace spun underneath the keeper in the fourth minute for the 1-0 lead.
The Hawks would add a goal in the 23' as Harri Lovett allowed Harrison Ardron space on the throw in leading to a breakaway goal and a 2-0 lead.
In quick succession, a designed throw in by Harri Lovett found Sam Hall on the end line for a header that was flicked across to a diving Toby Sims for the 3-0 lead in the 33'. Just over a minute later, Harrison Ardron settled a ball at the top of the box and slid a pass over to Zouhair Bettache in the middle of the box for the 4-0 lead.
Second Half:
Sam Hall started the scoring in the second half as Aldair Anica Hernandez flicked a volley over to Hall for the header goal in the 53'.
The Hawks continued to attack as the bench was emptied for the Hawks following the Hall goal. London Williams would settle a deflection allowing Wesley Illes to deposit a volley into the back of the net in the 55'.
Chowan would score in the 63', 64', and 70' to push the advantage to 9-0. Marlone Nandjeu, London Williams, and Wesley Illes posted goals during the stretch. Illes and Williams tallied an assist.
Marlone Nandjeu scored two goals in the final ten minutes of action off a ricochet off the cross bar and a tap in. Justin Smith assisted on the final Nandjeu goal.
