BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Chowan Men's Soccer team were lethal on set pieces to remain unbeaten on the season as the Hawks picked up a 3-2 victory against Lees-McRae on Sunday afternoon.

Harrison Ardron, Harri Lovett, and Jay Whyatt tallied a goal in the contest. Ardron and Aldair Anica Hernandez posted an assist.
For Harri Lovett and Jay Whyatt, the goals were their first of their collegiate careers.
All three goals came off set pieces for the Hawks.
HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half:
Lees-McRae posted the first shot in the contest in the 12' requiring a save from Ross Miller. Lees-McRae would score in the 15' on a set piece after a free kick from 25 yards out found the head of a Bobcat for the 1-0 lead.
The Hawks would equalize in the 20' as a short corner was tapped to Aldair Anica Hernandez on the right side of the pitch and slid back to Harrison Ardron, who took one dribble and curled the ball into the near post for the goal.
Chowan would take a 2-1 lead in the 26' as London Williams was tripped on the left side of the pitch. Harri Lovett benefited from the miscommunication by the Bobcat defense as his free kick attempt from 35 yards out found the far post for the lead.
Second Half:
LMC was able to find the equalizer in the 69' to bring the contest to a 2-2 game.
Aldair Anica Hernandez and Harri Lovett had shots saved as the Bobcats were determined to keep the match level.
In the 82', the Hawks were awarded a corner kick from the right side of the pitch. Harrison Ardron would find the head of Jay Whyatt on the back post for the tap in game-winner.
Harrison Ardron posted a shot in the 89' that required a save as the Hawks took home the 3-2 victory.
