BRISTOL, TENN. – The Chowan Baseball team was unable to string hits together with runners on base as the Hawks dropped the series against King in Conference Carolinas action on Friday afternoon.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORES
Tyler Jones picked up five hits including his first home run of the season. Jeffrey Hiner posted two hits on the afternoon. Hiner and Lane White posted a double.
Jarret Henderson and Colby Jordan provided a scoreless inning in relief. Ryan Gallaccio pitched well in the nightcap going 7.0 innings allowing four hits.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Game Three: Chowan 0, King 10
Tyler Jones led off the contest by reaching on a dropped pop-up on the right field line. Jones would be thrown out at second to end the inning.
King would jump on the board in the bottom of the first inning as a two-out drop third strike opened the door allowing a runner to score. A walk and a single following the wild pitch pushed the lead to 2-0 for the Tornado.
In the third inning, Justin Winslow and Tyler Jones picked up a pair of two-out singles, but were left stranded.
The Tornado tacked on a pair in the bottom half of the inning as a wild pitch and a throwing error allowed the runs to score, 4-0.
Noah Cartwright and Noah Evington picked up singles in the fourth but couldn't get a baserunner to third.
A dropped pop up and a wild pitch aided in the Tornado extending their lead to 7-0. The Tornado added three more runs in the fifth inning to lead 10-0.
Game Four: Chowan 2, King 4
Tyler Jones posted a single to right center in the nightcap before a double play ball wiped out Jones. Jeffrey Hiner doubled down the right field line but was left stranded.
King scored in the bottom of the second inning as a delayed steal allowed a run to score from third. The Tornado added a run in the third inning following an error to lead 2-0.
After an efficient six pitch inning by Ryan Gallaccio, Trenton Lee started off the fifth reaching on an error. Lane White doubled down the left field line with one out before Ethan Whelan produced a RBI groundout to plate the first run of the afternoon, 2-1.
King added a pair of runs in the fifth inning on a two-out rally to lead 4-1.
Tyler Jones would launch the first pitch he saw in the sixth inning over the left field wall to cut the deficit to 4-2. Jeffrey Hiner added a single to right center before the inning ended.
The Hawks were unable to claw back over the final innings.
