HOW IT HAPPENED

Game One: Chowan 1, Emmanuel 4

Emmanuel took an early 2-0 run in the first inning on a double and a two-run home run.

Chowan posted a run in the second inning as Dallas Trevena reached on a lead-off walk.  Tyler West and Brock Cross picked up singles to load the bases with no outs.  Justin Winslow produced a sacrifice fly to plate Trevena.  After a sacrifice bunt to push both runners into scoring position, a strikeout ended the threat, 2-1.

Shane Rademacher pitched out of a jam in the third before a caught stealing and a ground out eliminated the threat.

Tyler West doubled in the fourth inning but was left stranded.  Emmanuel pushed their lead to 3-1 in the fifth inning on two hits and a walk.

The Lions scratched across a run in the sixth inning to lead 4-1.  Chowan looked to rally in the sixth inning as Dallas Trevena reached on an error with two-outs.  Trevena moved to second on a wild pitch before a single by Tyler West put runners on the corners.  Brock Cross drew a walk to load the bases but would leave them loaded.

Game Two: Chowan 7, Emmanuel 14

The Hawks were aggressive to start posting two runs in the bottom of the first inning.  Tyler Jones started off the inning with a double before Patrick Krack singled up the middle to plate Jones.  Dallas Trevena and Tyler West posted singles before a two out single by Noah Evington plated Trevena for the 2-0 lead.

Chowan plated a run in the bottom of the second inning as Trenton Lee reached on an error and stole second with one out.  Tyler Jones drew a walk and Patrick Krack singled to center to load the bases.  Brock Cross produced a sacrifice fly to plate Lee.

In the third inning, Dallas Trevena led off the inning with a double to left center.  Noah Evington drew a walk before a RBI groundout by Joe Nelms plated Trevena.  Christian Allen singled to right center scoring Evington but was thrown out trying to stretch into a double to end the inning, 5-0.

Emmanuel scored their first run in the fourth inning without recording a hit as three free passes led to a sacrifice fly for the run.  The Lions would capitalize on the free passes and errors in the fifth inning scoring four runs on two errors and three free passes to even the score at 5-all without recording a hit.

The Lions would go hitless until one-out in the seventh inning.  Emmanuel tallied four hits in the inning along with two more errors by the Hawks to plate five more runs and take the lead 10-5.

Singles by Brock Cross and Tyler West in the seventh allowed a RBI opportunity for Noah Evington with two outs.  Evington doubled to right center to plate Cross as a strong relay cut down West at the plate to keep the score at 10-6.

After Emmanuel picked up a run in the eighth, Chowan answered with a run in the bottom of the inning.  Jeffrey Hiner started the inning with a walk and advanced to second on a balk.  Trenton Lee singled up the middle to score Hiner to cut the deficit to 11-7.
