Chowan Falls To North Greenville In Overtime

TIGERVILLE, S.C. –  The Chowan Women's Soccer team dropped their Conference Carolinas opener on the road to North Greenville in overtime on Sunday afternoon, 1-0.

Carolina Lucci led the team with four shots including two on target.  Sabrina Henderson and Sydney Henderson tallied a shot on goal.

Allison Traub took the loss in goal after stopping three shots.

HOW IT HAPPENED

After a blocked shot by NGU, Carolina Lucci had her attempt blocked and forced a corner kick.

In the 10', NGU forced a save by Allison Traub.  The Crusaders had an attempt three minutes later sail high.

Monae Moore had her free kick attempt sail high in the 26'.  After a save by Allison Traub, Carolina Lucci had an attempt bounce off the far post and away from danger.

The Hawks looked to push the attack in the 40' as the close range attempts would be cleared out by the NGU defense.

Carolina Lucci had a shot saved in the 52' and a shot by Sabrina Henderson in the 58' was denied.

Allison Traub turned away a Crusader attempt in the 86' diving to her left for the save.

Neither team found the back of the net as the teams went into extra time.

NGU would find the game-winner in the 94' slotting a shot into the lower left corner.

UP NEXT

Chowan will host Converse in Conference Carolinas action on Sunday, February 28.  Opening touch is at 1pm.  Only home fans on the pass list will be allowed, others will be asked to leave.
